With a Japanese passport, you can travel to 191 countries and regions without a visa.
This is the highest number in the world. However, if you wish to stay for a long time such as working or studying
abroad, you will need a visa.
On the other hand, there are 69 countries and regions where you can enter Japan without a visa. Countries with
large numbers of residents, such as China, Vietnam, the Philippines, Brazil, and Nepal, require visas when
entering the country, even for short-term stays.
Visas are issued for each purpose of residence. If you engage in activities other than the intended purpose or
exceed your period of stay, it will be considered an illegal stay. Therefore, visa management is very important.
Japanese people must also cooperate so that foreign residents can stay in Japan legally.
